Barbara Parham Garrett Ph.D.
Dr. Barbara A. Parham Garrett graduated from Kansas State University with a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction - Higher Education, December 2011. This book was written as she reflected upon herself, as a sixty something woman in the at-risk COVID-19 health group, a mother, friend, neighbor, and speech language therapist, who worked in school and skilled nursing home settings, when the Novel Coronavirus was born. She stayed at home to save lives for sixty days. She wondered how she could return to work in school and skilled nursing home settings. She wondered what safe settings would look like for school age children, for their parents, and other vulnerable work groups. She even wondered whether she would return to work in these settings at all.
This book was written for all school age children (5-8 years old), parents, teachers, and public healthcare workers, who wondered how we could make schools and workplaces safe. It is also, hoped this book helped answer what we can do to help protect our children and each other. It is hoped it helped answer what we can do to save lives. Finally, it is hoped, if you did not know, now you know, how you can learn to help others stay safe during this pandemic.
