About Anne Browning

I was born in London in 1961 (that's giving my age away), but moved to Shrewsbury in Shropshire, after my parents divorced when I was about 3 years old.

I have been working with dogs for 45 years now, so you could say I have plenty of experience.

At the age of 14 years, I was working as a head kennel maid in a local boarding and showing kennels. There I learnt how to train and show dogs, mostly Red Setters, which was the first dog of my own.

I also started teaching pet dog classes, whilst training my own dog.

I have worked in another local boarding and grooming kennels, where I learnt the art of pet, grooming, clipping and hand stripping.

As well as the basic dog training that I was engaged in, I became heavily involved in dog Agility, of which I spent many years competing and judging in.

I left employment and started up my own training and grooming business, which included dog walking and a grooming salon and pet shop.

Since the age of 17, I have always had multiple dogs. So, I studied and learnt all about dog language and communication, so that I could be a good leader to my dogs and I have never stopped learning. Along with that I have a great interest in human psychology and have studied this subject well, which helps me to understand us humans as well as canines.

I lost my business when in 1998 My health took a dive with the first of two severe strokes, of which the second occurred 6 months later. I won't go into it all but, I was in a wheel chair for a year and could not speak (Aphasic,) for about 7 months.

It took many years of recovery and I have had 5 small strokes (TIA'S) since then, but thankfully the last one was many years ago.

During my recovery I continue to work with and train my own and other people's dogs, which was the main reason I have come through them as well as I have. Not being able to communicate or make myself understood, was one of the most frustrating times in my life, so I understand how our dogs feel, when we can't or don't understand them. At the onset of the strokes, I had to deal with, anxiety, panic attacks and total fear of my new life. I also suffer with PHN (postherpetic neuralgia).

If it wasn't for my dogs I wouldn't be here now, so I know how important our dogs are in our lives.

I have since rebuilt my dog business with the invaluable help from Roland Marks, my partner and Head Trainer, and as you will be able to see on our website, we offer a lot of services to help pet owners have that happy and rewarding relationship with their dogs that we all want.

But I must say that I am passionate about teaching owners to be responsible, and to educate them to respect other dogs and owners' problems, and a big part of that education is learning about how our dogs communicate and how best to work with them and not against them.

Educating dog owners is my passion and my life.
