Tasha Brooks is a pseudonym of Dr. Dhana Kannan, lecturer, social scientist, author, and speaker. She chooses to write in the self-help genre under this pseudonym to keep the distinction from her other business and academic writing and research. She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and the very same year went on to pursue her PhD while still recovering from her illness. She wrote Falling Up primarily for herself to cope with her health and professional struggles. When her cancer came back for the second time, she decided to update the book and publish it, hoping that her story and the actionable insights in the book would help others build a more optimistic future, as it did for her. She recently obtained her PhD in Management and her story was featured in the news in Canada.
In addition to writing, researching, and teaching, Dhana also enjoys annoying her friends and family, devouring food with way too many calories, and doing everything in her power to avoid household chores.
Dhana lives in Ottawa, Canada with her long-suffering husband Naveen. She can be reached at author.t.brooks@gmail.com.
