B Tybor Leski

B. Tybor Leski grew up in Taylor, Michigan where she spent her younger years until she graduated from St. Francis Cabrini High School. She joined the U. S. Navy Reserves with her best friend and was off to bootcamp and “A” School afterwards. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Aviation Management and pursued working for the airlines. She worked at Northwest (now Delta Airlines) for 21 years.

From an early age she was inspired to be creative from her mother who loved art. Her mom painted, created pottery and sold them in a gift store upstairs in her garage. Tybor Leski wrote short stories and poems throughout her life and was inspired after reading books night after night to her children from the doors between their bedrooms until they fell asleep. For fun, she started to write her own book for her daughter who started exploring what to do after high school. ‘Having Steel’ was started back in 2014 and just sat for years until it got dusted off and finished.

Tybor Leski was inspired to write after many of her adventures traveling with the airlines all over the world. She inserted some of her Navy context in there because of the oddity that comes from the people you are required to work with from all over the country. Also she wanted to show the contrast between a structured life to making off the cuff decisions when they’re not in your standard operating procedures.

The sequel to this book is coming along and should be published soon.
