A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Sean Miller is a teacher and equity lead for Fairfax County Public Schools who is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in educational leadership and policy studies at Howard University. He holds a master of education degree in special education from Regent University; a master of arts degree in African-American religious studies from Howard University; and a bachelor of fine arts in drawing and design from Old Dominion University.

Actively involved and engaged in the community, Miller is a youth minister and former high school basketball coach. He recently served as a writer and narrator for “An Ode to Hip-Hop” production in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Known in the hip-hop and rap community as seanISrael, Miller is also a musical artist who has performed and opened for several renowned artists including Kurtis Blow, John P. Kee, and Canton Jones. He also previously performed a hip-hop inspired rendition of “The Creation” in a Howard University theatrical production of “God’s Trombones Revisited,” an adaptation of James Weldon Johnson’s “God’s Trombones: Seven Negro Sermons in Verse.”
