Peter Shore is a retired Navy Chief who is a homeschooling dad. He has adopted three of his grandchildren. Although they all have special needs, he helps them along life's journey: he encourages them when they fail, applauds their successes, and helps them cope with the many emotions that come from displacement and with growing up. The children's book, "Papa & Punchanella," with its astonishing illustrations, depicts that emotional journey of Punchanella, a fictitious name for his now daughter, viewed through her own eyes as her Papa offers some wisdom to help her cope with and understand the new changes in her life.
Peter enjoys teaching and playing with his children, making them laugh all the time, tending to their needs, and offering them a safe, secure, and loving environment. Along with his wife, Sheila, he has raised them in an atmosphere where they can speak freely without fear, learn right from wrong, understand that they are important, and learn kindness to pass onto others.
He has a website available: www.grandparentsparentinggrandkids.org. He and his family will be traveling to tell their story, explain the emotions these children experience, and help grandparents understand that their Golden Years have not turned to Fool's Gold but to Platinum!
