The BODY BEFORE SKILL Training Method is a creative vision of international fitness professional and producer Jessica Zoo. Author of industry best-selling book BODY BEFORE SKILL: Sports Performance for Cheerleading (2016). Accredited sports education specialist, fitness professional since 2009 and member of the US Centre for Coaching Excellence (USCCE). Jessica has spent the last 12 years researching movement, fitness, sports and applying theory into practice by creating engaging training methods we can use every day.

After focusing on coaching fitness for the sport of cheerleading and competitive dance as the founder of CheerConditioning.Academy, Jessica took the leap in 2020 to bring the benefits of the method to the “everyday athlete” through BODY BEFORE SKILL: a holistic approach to fitness and flexibility based on sports science and cross-training.

BODY BEFORE SKILL is more than a method; it is an ongoing quest to explore, play, understand this wondrous body we live in and make the most of it! The method offers a unique approach to fitness combining the love of movement, sports science and the joy of music. It combines knowledge and techniques from a variety of fields including gymnastics, ballet, barre, pilates, callisthenics, yoga, martial arts, movement science, sports performance, cheerleading and is continually evolving to explore our real-life superpowers.

The BODY BEFORE SKILL Training Method focuses on movement optimisation, flexibility, physical ability, awareness, skill and development of lean muscle mass. It is suitable for all ages and levels, from complete beginners to fitness all the way to seasoned athletes and sports or fitness coaches.
