Thomas J.R. Dearn

Author and musician Thomas J.R. Dearn was born in the Black Country area of the West Midlands and is author of the historical crime series Once Upon A Time In The Black Country. He is particularly influenced by movies such as The Godfather, Goodfellas, Once Upon A Time In America, Get Carter, Legend, The Krays and the TV series Peaky Blinders. His favorite writers include Mario Puzo, Ted Lewis, Nicholas Pileggi, Bernard Cornwell, James Herbert and James Joyce. Thomas also has a strong interest in early to mid twentieth century history and is a classic car enthusiast and collector of vintage archtop guitars.
