Doug Kane is a retired Pulmonary and Critical Care physician, author, runner, and animal lover. He started his creative journey writing songs by age twelve. After two years study at Berklee College of Music he veered off to follow his other love, medical science. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia and proceeded to Vanderbilt University, where he trained and performed research. During his time as Associate Clinical Professor, and private practice, he honed his medical skills and came to appreciate the beautifully diverse and complex nature of the human condition.
During his career, Doug has published online articles, newspaper articles, medical education material, short stories, and numerous published works within his realm of science. His writing draws from his personal and medical experience. He strives to entertain, educate, and incite wonder with prophetic plot twists, action, adventure, and realistic medical science scenarios
Doug lives in Tennessee with his wife along with their dog, and three cats.
