Martin Koci

Martin Koci (*1987) is Associate Professor at KU Linz (Austria). His research focuses on the theological turns in contemporary continental philosophy and theology in a postmodern context. He specialises in the French phenomenology, its Anglo-American reception and the work of the Czech phenomenologist Jan Patočka. Currently, he is pursuing a project on the reframing theological grammar through the concept of finitude.

Martin is the author of Thinking Faith after Christianity (SUNY Press 2020) and the editor of Transforming the Theological Turn (Rowman&Littlefield 2020). He also published numerous academic studies in journals such as Modern Theology, Journal for Continental Philosophy of Religion, and The International Journal of Philosophy and Theology.

In 2016, Martin obtained his doctorate at KU Leuven (Belgium) and was granted Jan Patočka Junior Fellowship at the Institute for Human Science in Vienna (Austria) in the same year. Martin also worked as the scientific co-ordinator and research at the Centre of Theology, Philosophy and Media Theory at Charles University in Prague.
