I grew up on a dairy farm in Freeland, Michigan. Freeland was a small farming town, in a rural area, and the wide-open space was my range. As a kid, I took full advantage of that space and the freedom it offered as my sister and I rode our horses (sometimes bareback) for miles and miles. Besides horses, we had dairy cows, one dog, many cats, and the mice who'd take up residence everywhere on a farm. Neighbors were friends, and most everyone, whether town folks or farm folks, knew each other.
After I grew up, I met and married my husband, and we brought two daughters into the world of whom we are forever proud. We are blessed with one son-in-law and one grandchild.
I began writing when our girls were young, and never dreamed there'd be so much to learn about the art of writing, with voice being the most important aspect. No voice, no attachment, no readership...no believability! Get the voice right, and the rest will follow.
I write picture books, middle grade, and YA. My first published MG book: The Puppy Predicament; the second published book is YA - Lagatha's Curse.
