Derrinique Elliott

Derrinique Elliott was born and bred in The Bahamas with the itch to write stories ever since she learned how to string sentences together. With novel characters actively running around in her head all day, the irony of her first published work is a book of poems she weaved together to pass a high school English class isn't lost on her. OR them. Or her 7-year-old self who confidently proclaimed to every adult who asked that when she grows up she wants to be "an author of children's fiction books." The plan was never to have her name attached to poetry. The dream of authoring fiction hasn't changed, however, and to this day she pecks away at every little idea that floats through her mind.
