Luminary Bakery

Luminary Bakery is an award-winning social enterprise designed to offer opportunities for women who have faced social and economic disadvantage to build a future for themselves. They provide a safe and professional environment where women can grow holistically - encouraging ambition, restoration and second chances. Through offering training, employment and community within their bakeries, Luminary aims to empower women to build their careers and break cycles of poverty, violence & disadvantage.

Since starting in 2014, Luminary's friendly neighbourhood bakeries have now become well known across London and beyond for their scrumptious bakes and stunning cakes. Their bakers pride themselves on making some of the best cinnamon buns in the capital and having gained a cult following for 'that carrot cake'.

In Luminary's first cookbook, Rising Hope, they invite you behind the scenes, to learn their treasured recipes and hear the inspiring life stories that rise behind their bakery doors. Including contributions from many women throughout the Luminary community, Rising Hope not only reflects the resilience, diversity and talent of these individuals, but the strength found in collaboration.
