Barbara Evans was born in a small seaside town in south Wales, which features, with occasional adjustments, in some of her stories. She completed ‘A’ level Art at Swansea College of Art, then moved to Cheltenham and spent her free time among the art students and hippie poets of the town. She played guitar and sang Folk songs at the random gatherings held in her flat.
On moving to Rochester in Kent she developed a passion for traditional English folk songs, and performed in various Folk clubs. Some of these songs have been the inspiration for her Folk Song series of stories.
She became an English teacher, married and raised a family, who have now grown up and left home. So Barbara has returned to her love of story writing where she travels in the company of her characters and escapes into the lands and places her stories and poems create.
