Jim Seaman

James (Jim) Seaman is a highly imaginative and creative security professional with a long track record of solving problems in practical but often unconventional ways.

Born in West Yorkshire, he developed his craft over 22 years in the RAF Police, protecting mission‑critical assets as a police dog handler, security commander, aviation security specialist and counter‑intelligence operative. That experience gave him a rare blend of operational realism, disciplined risk management and a deep understanding of protective security.

On leaving military service, Jim moved into the corporate world, taking on a range of information and cyber security roles, including Supplier Assurance, Baseline Security Controls Manager, Head of Information Security, Group Information Security Manager, Information Security Consultant and PCI DSS Qualified Security Assessor (PCI QSA). Across these positions he has helped organisations to understand their risks more clearly, strengthen controls and embed security into day‑to‑day operations.

He holds an MSc in Security Management and a suite of industry qualifications in information security and risk, including from ISACA, CCP and FAIR, and he actively keeps his knowledge current through ongoing professional involvement and voluntary work with ISACA.

Jim’s passion is mentoring organisations in effective protective security and cyber risk practices, helping them to improve their defensive posture in a proportionate way, reduce risks to business operations and achieve meaningful, sustainable compliance.
