Jeff Rollins

For most people, the question 'Where are you from?' is a simple question with a succint answer. Jeff's first response is usually, 'What season of my life?'

Jeff Rollins was born in Alabama, moved to Texas, then to Florida, and shortly after to Venezuela, where he celebrated his third birthday. Growing up in South America, he split his time between living in Venezuela and attending boarding school in Quito, Ecuador. He earned his bachelor of arts degree in International Relations from Wheaton College (IL) and his master of arts in Secondary Education from National University in San Diego, CA. He currently lives in Spring, Texas.

Over the years, his diverse life experiences have allowed him to connect with people from a wide variety of ethnicities and backgrounds. These connections have served to shape him, both as a person and as a writer and speaker.

In May of 2014, Jeff and his wife, Mackenzie, experienced the greatest tragedy of their lives. They received a call from the day care where their kids were attending, frantically telling them that their three month old daugther, Zoe, was not breathing. They both rushed to in-home day care only to be told that she did not make it. Their precious daughter had died from SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).

The support they received in that time was invaluable. It allowed them to continue their preparations to move to Ecuador as missionaries, only instead of a five people moving down, there were four. Their desire was to be in Ecuador for life, however after two and a half years, they sensed that it was time to move back to Texas. They had no idea what was next, but they knew that something was coming.

That something was a ministry to walk with families who find themselves walking the road of their own greif journey due to child loss. Together they founded, Hope Family Care, a nonprofit that comes alongisde child loss families and supports them on their grief journeys by providing support in the form of community, resources, coaching, and presence.

The diverse experiences that he and his wife have lived, have allowed Jeff to empathize with parents from all walks of life.

It is from those experiences and background of nearly two decades of pastoral work, that Jeff writes. The books and resources are written for child loss families with the goal of helping them find Hope and Healing amidst loss. They openly share their experience with grief and loss, with the goal of connecting people with others who are on similar journeys.

Jeff and his family live in the Houston (TX) area with their two Ecuadorian dogs and a couple of bee hives they added during COVID-19. His passions include, his faith, coffee, reading, watching sports (especiallly his two boys' teams and daugther Nora's gymnastics). He and his wife run Hope Family Care, a nationwide ministry, full time.
