Mary Purdy MS RDN

An excerpt from my kindergarten teacher’s evaluation: “Food means a lot to Mary. If she doesn’t like her lunch it ruins her entire day.” It was true then, and it’s true now.

Mary Purdy, MS, RDN, is an Eco-conscious and Integrative Dietitian who holds a Master's Degree from Bastyr University where she is currently adjunct faculty. Previously she worked 4 years at the wellness company, Arivale, where she helped to train fellow coaches and provided nutrition and lifestyle counseling to clients using a personalized medicine approach. She was in private practice for 8 years as well as a Clinical Supervisor at Bastyr’s Teaching Clinic and an outpatient dietitian at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, working with hundreds of patients on a variety of health issues. She has given over 100 nutrition workshops, speaks regularly at health and nutrition conferences and was the keynote speaker at Bastyr University’s Commencement Ceremony 2019. She has been interviewed on Seattle’s Public Radio KUOW and The local Seattle TV station’s KIRO News and quoted in numerous magazine articles and health blogs including Prevention, Today’s Dietitian, Experience Life, and Natural Health Magazine. She serves on the boards of Hunger and Environmental Nutrition and Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine of which she is Past Chair. Additionally, she hosts the podcast “The Nutrition Show” and is author of the book “Serving the Broccoli Gods.”
