Robert Bildner

Robert "Rob" Bildner is a former attorney who grew up in a food family - his grandparents founded Kings Super Markets in New Jersey - and left the practice of law to create, run and eventually sell several food distribution and manufacturing companies. Bildner's companies helped specialty and organic growers and other farmers market their products to retailers and the foodservice industry. In addition to his background in the food business, he is active in the philanthropic world and continues to lead and serve on a number of nonprofit boards. Bildner photographed the farms and restaurants in The Berkshires Farm Table Cookbook and studied photography in workshops around the world. He graduated from Yale University (BA), University of Pennsylvania Law School (JD) and the Jewish Theological Seminary (MA). (Authors photos ©Michael Priest Photography)
