Lee Broughton is a Lecturer in Film and Media in the School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds. He also teaches on the Arts and Humanities programme that is offered by the University's Lifelong Learning Centre. Lee is also a writer, a film critic and a film programmer. His research interests include the Western, horror films and cult movies more generally. He was the assistant editor of the Spaghetti Westerns fanzine Westerns All'Italiana! for a number of years and he worked as an archival researcher for the numerous documentaries that appeared on MGM's Special Edition DVDs of Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and A Fistful of Dynamite. More recently he has provided audio commentary tracks and other extra features for DVDs and Blu-rays released by boutique labels that include Arrow Video, Dorado Films, Explosive Media and Wild East. He regularly contributes film reviews and articles to the DVD Savant / CineSavant / Trailers from Hell on-line magazine as well as the Current Thinking on the Western and Psychotronic Cinemas: The Cult Movie World Wide web columns.
