Milo Reed is an artist and writer who grew up on a farm in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, near the town of Mountain Home, Idaho. His youth was spent riding horses, rounding up cattle and cultivating acres of crops at harvest time. He still lives on the same farm he grew up on today, now with a wife a three children of his own.
School never interested Milo and from an early age he always knew that he would become a farmer like his father before him. But while an academic career was never going to be an option, he did possess a skill that surprised many.
From the age of about 5 he would sit for long periods, drawing the mountains in the distance, the farm buildings and the animals and people who inhabited his world. As he got older her would often take himself off for weekends of solitude at a cabin in the mountains, where he would continue with his passion for art.
Now he has produced a book which aims to help new and aspiring artists to draw on of his favorite animals. How to Draw Horses is exactly what it sounds like and takes artists through a step-by-step process that will eventually lead to them producing stunning works of art.
When he has time off, Milo still enjoys going to his cabin in the woods, only now he usually has to take his kids with him. He enjoys being outdoors at all times of the year, fishing in the lakes and rivers near his home or enjoying the beauty of nature that is all around him.
He hopes one day to take a trip to South America where he plans to indulge himself in the splendor of the Andes and perhaps draw some of the native animals there.
