Michael Tan

Michael Tan is a doctor and former GAMSAT candidate who wrote and published the first edition of The Guru Method series of GAMSAT preparation books in 2004. These books are based on Michael’s own GAMSAT preparation notes and techniques.

Michael’s philosophy is that the purpose of the GAMSAT is to weed out those who do not possess the "thinking skills" that are deemed desirable as a doctor. There are those rare few people who naturally possess this "thinking" skills. They possess lightning fast quantitative and qualitative analysis skills that reach peak performance under stress and tight time constraints.

In short, there are people who can succeed in the GAMSAT with little to no preparation.

These gifted people usually have no idea of their innate skills and tend to laugh at their "good luck" all the way through to becoming a doctor.

Michael does not have this natural talent, nor did he have a lot of time to study. He compensated by basing his study on the frequencies, patterns, tendencies and styles of GAMSAT questions which you can predict.

That method of study helped him achieve a GAMSAT score that allowed him to become a doctor.
