Sharon has been a keen fell walker all her life, completing the Pennine Way with her family at the tender age of 6, and has enjoyed many walking holidays around the UK, mainly in Scotland, the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors, as well as local walks around Derbyshire. She moved to the Lake District with her fiancé in 2008 and is currently engaged in training for her Mountain Leader certificate. She is looking forward to pursuing this as a career in the future.
In 2016 when her first dog, an Alsatian named Misty arrived, she took her to many of her favourite Lake District places! Unfortunately they seemed to forever encounter stiles and other obstacles along the way, and despite looking around, she found it difficult to find any literature for the type of walks they enjoyed. After many enquiries from others about where to walk, she decided to write a series of exclusive Lake District guidebooks detailing their own adventures, whilst also using her skills as an amateur landscape photographer to make the guides informative and interesting to the reader, so they can enjoy their own dog-friendly walks with the fabulous views they had enjoyed.
The guides are also suitable for anyone wishing to avoid scary scrambles and (as much as possible) the busiest places, whilst still enjoying the fabulous views the Lakes has to offer!
