Noah Teitelbaum

Noah Teitelbaum is the Executive Director of Empowering Education, a nonprofit that supports K-8 schools with a social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum The trauma-informed program incorporates techniques such as mindfulness, positive affirmations,I-Statements, and social skills into a program that’s just as fun for students as it is easy for teachers. His collection of children's stories, Munchy and Jumpy Tales, translates lesson plans into read-alouds with movements & discussion questions. These special books are designed for kids and their grown-ups, be them parents, teachers, or counselors.

Along with telling his children long and winding stories on the long and winding road trips they take, Noah wrote plays and short stories in early adulthood.

Noah was born and raised in New York City. After working on human rights in postwar Croatia for the United Nations, Noah returned home to teach 5th graders in Harlem. It remains some of the most meaningful and difficult work he ever did. He went on to coach other teachers and develop curricula and training tools. After years of leadership at Manhattan Prep, a boutique test prep company, he went on to run Empowering Education.
