Christopher Lee Jones

Christopher Lee Jones grew up in southern Michigan and attended Jackson High School before continuing his education at Michigan State University. Shortly before Hurricane Andrew, he moved to South Florida, where his love of adventure led him to earn his Advanced Scuba Diver certification and a United States Coast Guard Captain's License.

While working in the Merchant Mariner industry, Christopher participated in numerous sailboat and powerboat deliveries throughout the Caribbean. He also spent years exploring the waters of the Bahamas aboard his own boats, developing a lifelong appreciation for the ocean, navigation, and exploration.

Christopher later dedicated his career to public service. After earning his Firefighter, Paramedic, and EMT certifications, he joined Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, where he served for many years before retiring in 2019.

Although his professional life focused on emergency services, Christopher never lost his fascination with space. A self-described lifelong "space nut," his passion was reignited after watching one of the early Falcon 9 launches and witnessing the successful booster landing. Seeing the first Falcon Heavy launch in person—and watching both side boosters return safely to Earth—cemented his desire to once again pursue his interest in space exploration.

Since then, Christopher has traveled extensively to research the history and future of spaceflight. His visits have included the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, as well as tours of facilities associated with the Marshall Space Flight Center and Redstone Arsenal. Along the way, he has spent countless hours learning from engineers, scientists, and industry professionals.

Today, Christopher lives in South Florida, where he continues to research space exploration, orbital debris, and the growing threat of the Kessler Syndrome. His passion for educating others about this critical issue inspired him to write Mars Mission I: Surviving the Kessler Effect (Second Edition), a fact-based science fiction novel designed to raise awareness about the challenges facing humanity's future in space.

When he's not writing or researching, Christopher continues his search for anything related to space, exploration, and humanity's next great frontier.
