Robert Q. Hoyt

Born in Des Moines in 1937, Robert Q. Hoyt is the author of six novels. After graduation from Loyola University in Chicago, he taught Honors English. Trained as a courthouse Lawyer, Robert moved to Tucson in the late 70s to start his own firm. In addition to his full-time trial practice he is currently finishing a seventh novel, and as co-author with his son Chase, has written half a score of screenplays.

Married, Hoyt has three successful adult children. He commutes between his home in Tucson and Los Angeles, where he works and writes. He is a long-distance bicycle racer, a salmon fisherman in Alaska, and is an accomplished sailor and diver. In the course of researching his pirate novels, he explores and sails the American Caribbean and the sandy coasts of Southern California.
