N. A. Moncrief

N.A. Moncrief (a pen name) is an Australian conservationist who grew up in a small country town on the outskirts of Melbourne. He experienced a childhood that was both challenging and uplifting, and was inspired to devote his life to conserving the world's forests after listening to the ancient voice of Richard St Barbe Baker on the radio, just after his 15th birthday. He set up a global non-profit and has mediated major conflicts between some of the world's largest companies and global NGOs, inspiring commitments and actions to save forests the world over. He has worked in more than 60 countries and is inspired to write about his life and his work in the hope of sharing the lessons he's learned about how to bring change in a world sorely in need of it. He believes that looking back, with compassion, on our childhood, can help us all better connect with who we are and that this is an essential first step in making the world a better place.

Moncrief hopes that by sharing stories from his childhood, he might inspire readers to revisit their own stories.
