Patty Knittel

I’m a proud Montana girl who has been lucky to live in the Pacific Northwest most of my life. My husband and I have retired to Redmond, OR, in the high desert beneath many beautiful Cascade mountain peaks. We love to golf and travel. Other hobbies besides writing include quilting, reading, and I’m trying my hand at wool felting animals. We have a daughter, a son, and one grandson, all who bring great joy to our lives.

When I married into the Schwartz family descendants, I was intrigued with this story of Karl. The family has a large binder of their history and family members who still remember Karl, who passed away in the 1960’s. It was time for the story to be told.
