Janick Laberge

Born in Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean in Quebec, Janick Laberge holds a medical degree from Laval University. She has been practicing medicine for over 30 years. As a general practitioner, she had worked in different settings, including in her own office, in hospital, in health administration, teaching, public health and occupational health. In the past four years, she has been working in the field of medico-legal expertise. She also acts as a speaker, throughout Quebec and elsewhere in Canada, to lead her own conferences in the fields of promotion and prevention, for both, physical and psychological health.

She holds a bachelor's and master's degree in visual arts from Laval University in Quebec City. Her artistic work has been presented in a dozen countries and rewarded with several national and international awards. She also has additional university training in creative writing.

In the spring of 2020, she published her first collection of short stories "Les secrets de l'Institut" under her own banner: Dendrit Editions. The collection illustrates, through ten endearing stories, inspired by real stories, ten different mental health problems. Volume 2 has just been published, in January 2022. Her first novel, "The Genome", a scientific thriller of anticipation, set after the pandemic, transports us from Malaysia to New York, via Quebec. It deals with current topics including, genetic manipulation, international conspiracies, unspeakable secrets and overpopulation. "The genome", its English version, had been published in February 2021. She also published poetry under the pseudonym Amorose. A first collection of poems in french, "Mon artiste", was published in the spring of 2021.
