D.L. Ptaszynski

I am a romance novelist who currently publishes independently. While I received training to become a secondary English teacher, I made the decision to become a homemaker and to pursue a writing career instead.

From my home in sunny Arizona, I pen novels about realistic characters, although completely fictional, with whom adult readers of all ages and backgrounds can relate to. Having the opportunity to live among my Midwestern roots for a few years, I came to hold the people and places of that region close to my heart, and often places my characters into those settings. Since returning to my home state in the Southwest, I spend most of my time working on multiple book projects, partaking in various artistic hobbies, and spending time with my family.

My characters have become as real and connected to me as the flesh and blood people I know. I truly enjoy creating them from the start of fleeting thoughts all the way to realized completed characters as a whole. They have kept me company in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep. They have given me a break from hectic times. They have kept me from being lonely when I had been, and they have become my friends. I often tell people that I thoroughly enjoy playing with all of my imaginary friends, and I that enjoy discovering who they reveal themselves to be as I write about them. I love being the proverbial fly on the wall when my characters are in the thick of things. They love, they hate, they struggle, and they overcome.

I definitely plan to continue writing and publishing as long as I continue to have characters that want their stories told. I sincerely hope that all of my friends and readers enjoy sharing in the lives of my characters. Enjoy!
