Deborah S. Prutzman is an American lawyer and award-winning writer. She writes about her life in the U.S. and Montenegro, and stories of her extended family, as well as professional articles concerning legal issues. She is the author, together with her mother, Adaline Sorace, of Addie of the Flint Hills, which received the Kansas Notable Book Award in 2010. Her books for children are written under the name Great Aunt Debbie. She has won multiple awards for her children's books, including 1st place in Story Monsters’ Royal Dragonfly Book Awards (Activity Books- Children, ebooks) for her newest release, How to Teach Your Adult: To Believe in Magic.
Deborah has had a distinguished legal career, serving as general counsel to leading U.S. and international financial services firms, including two organizations that are recognized as being of systemic significance. She was a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and Arnold & Porter. Currently Deborah is CEO of The Regulatory Fundamentals Group LLC, a consulting firm she founded that represents leading institutional investors.
Deborah is a recipient of the Order of Danilo (a Montenegrin chivalrous order). She is happily married with two children and two grandchildren. Deborah divides her time between New York, Connecticut and Montenegro.
