Andy Adams is an actor, real estate professional, musician, and former Defense Against the Language Arts high school teacher from the Midwest who writes fiction and fantastical stories from the Sierra Nevada mountains in Reno.
Doing his best to imitate his hero, Benjamin Franklin, Andy never says no to parties or rising early to run by the Truckee River, plays piano and guitar with gusto ("Soon may the Wellerman come! Everyone now!") and travels to Europe or Costa Rica as a US ambassador whenever possible. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Andy talked with Bill Bryson backstage, took a writing class with Garrison Keillor, and paddled, wakeboarded or jumped off boulders into 76 of the 10,000 lakes. This season you can catch glimpses of him skiing with his family at Palisades or Mt. Rose.
Not to be confused with a bygone cowboy writer (previous life: very hard, no AC), this Andy Adams' debut novel is "The Games of Ganthrea," and written for fans of Harry Potter and Ender's Game.
Dear reader: If you love new adventures, magic beyond incantations, and romance but not-too-gushy, his stories are for you.
