John C. McLucas is a Baltimorean by adoption and lives in Bolton Hill with his dog and cat - both of whom have Italian names. His latest novel, The Boxer's Mask, was published in 2022 and reflects his love of Italy, the performing arts, and Henry James.
Dialogues on the Beach is his first novel; a sequel, Spirit's Tether, came out in 2020 from BrickHouse Books. He is Professor Emeritus of Italian and Latin at Towson University in Baltimore. For twenty years he also taught Italian language, diction, and repertory to voice students at Peabody Conservatory. In addition to his scholarly articles and translations, he has published poetry and short fiction in English and Italian. He is an elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and a classically trained singer.
