Lavnya Krishnamurthy

Lavnya Krishnamurthy is a doctor (Ophthalmologist) by profession and a writer by passion. She is also an avid reader, foodie and a die-hard Potterhead.

She hails from the pleasant and picturesque city of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, nestled in the foothills of the lush Western ghats. Her passion for writing was inspired by the vast expanse of nature’s beauty around her and her love for the language. Right from a tender age of ten years, she started penning poems and actively taking part in oratory programmes in school.

She did her MBBS in Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi and since then, her love affair with Kerala has been never ending. She moved on to do her Masters in Ophthalmology and a fellowship in Retinal surgery in the quaint coastal town of Pondicherry. It is her long association with coastal cities and towns which makes her a hopeless lover of the sea and thereby a hopeless romantic too.

She ardently believes that words are the most inexhaustible source of magic, second only to the magic called love. Through her stories, she attempts to instil faith in the power of love and the power of hope, deriving from the valuable lessons that life has taught her.

She has to her credit two published novels - ‘I Prescribe Love’ released by Lead start publishers in February 2020 and ‘Time and Tide wait for love’ by Locksley hall publishing in 2023.
