Paul Salveson

I'm a proud Northerner, Lancastrian and Boltonian..working on our history, culture and politics. Bolton-born, into a typical working class family (dad worked in the Tannery, mum in Beehive Mill). Back again after a gap of 25 years in Yorkshire (on missionary duties, so I teased my mates over there). I've written extensively on regional history, culture and politics. 'The Works' is my first novel, but I've a book of short stories coming out later this year*(2022). I'm also working on a cultural history of Lancashire, out early 2023. I'm still very much involved in the railway industry and chair my local community rail partnership. What else? I'm a visiting professor at the universities of Bolton and Huddersfield, making me truly Trans-Pennine. I've an MBE for 'services to the railway industry'.
