Baidha Fercoq

Baidha Dominique Fercoq is a poet, short story writer and artist. Writing highlights include being nominated in 2018 for the Pushcart Prize, recognized in Sweety Cat Press's Who's Who For Emerging Writers 2021, and receiving the 2021 William Shakespeare Poetry Award. She has had multiple poems, short stories and essays published in numerous anthologies to include Creative Talents Unleashed, Cyberwit, Spillwords, All Poetry, Scarlett Leaf Review, Pegasus Literary, Sweety Cat Publications, WildFire Publications, etc.

Ongoing literary projects include a poetry trilogy and a fiction novel. Topics for her poetry center on self-discovery and personal growth through the lens of nature, relationships and social issues. Through thoughtful reflections, the reader is invited to explore the inner realms of self - where a vast vault of self-knowledge resides.

In addition to writing, Baidha also produces poetry videos. Collaborating with leading composers and photographers, she creates a synergy that produces thought -provoking invitations. Readers generally are curious in wanting to know what shapes a writer: What inspires their craft? For Baidha, a British Literature professor left an indelible impression while reciting poetry during class. Clutching her book tightly to her chest, her profession spoke the poem from memory while closing her eyes. In that moment, Baidha experienced an epiphany - understanding life was meant to be lived passionately in the fullest measure of self-expression and integrity.

She currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and also enjoys painting metal art and wire sculpting. Her lifelong passion for formal and country gardening has led her towards an ongoing experimentation with plants in creating healing spaces.
