Nicholas Popkey

Nicholas moved to L.A. in 2016 to pursue a film career. He rose through the ranks of grip and electric, and with a newfound knowledge of lighting, Nicholas shot his debut feature film in 2018, "The Education of a Negro." The same year, Nicholas decided to focus on writing.

After his first short story, "Extended Release," was well-received, Nicholas started a blog and began reaching out to publishers. In 2020, HeartString Publishing adapted his ghost story, "Under the Bridge," into a novella. The story had previously been serialized by SixByEightPress. His most recent work was on the feature film "North Cobalt," as screenwriter. His current work in progress is a Sci-Fi novel he hopes to adapt for the screen. His favorite genres are urban fantasy, horror & sci-fi. His protagonists try to escape the shadows that follow them, and his supporting characters always tip their hats.
