Diane A. Kramer

Diane Kramer grew up in Chicago suburbia the fourth of six children, blessed with stellar parents and a loving family. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Education/Music Therapy from the University of Kansas and continued to live in the Kansas City area, raising her family of three children there. Currently, she and her husband have retired to Lawrence, Kansas where they are fortunate to enjoy their wonderful brood of four grandchildren who live close by.

Growing up, Diane was always happiest when involved in every extracurricular activity available to her. Her plate was always full and she was usually spread too thin. She continued this crazy lifestyle until pivotal events in her adult life prompted her to pull back, to take stock, and to consider her need for self-care. She learned how to say “no”, to clear her calendar of the clutter, and to invest her time in activities that truly brought her joy. She considers this revelation to be the one of her most valuable life lessons.

Recently, Diane has embarked on a new journey as a writer, and has just published her first book, “Palpitations” that recalls some of her most memorable and poignant moments in her thirty-seven years of mothering. Currently she is working a children's book and a first fictional novel. Diane looks forward to continuing her writing during her retirement years as it is an investment in time that brings her considerable joy.
