Meg Ishihara

Meg Ishihara is an illustrator based in Japan. Growing up, she spent much of her time doodling (mostly on her math notes) and pouring over picture books at her school library where she found her love for art. At age 8, Pixar's The Incredibles introduced her to the world of animation and concept design, igniting her passion to become an artist. On weekends, she'd practice drawing and spend hours creating stories, designing worlds and characters, all with her trusty 2B pencil. She taught herself to draw with traditional media first, and later to work digitally using Photoshop. At 19, Meg went to Hawaii for college and established her business in illustration. Now she's back in Japan, living her dream as a freelance illustrator. Cute dogs, inky pens and textured brushes are her obsessions, and she draws inspiration from everyday life with her family, friends and two chihuahuas.

Her hope is to bring joy, laughter and light into people’s homes through art, and she aspires to work in visual development for animation and eventually illustrate her own children's book.
