Writers inspire us to overcome odds that may seem impossible in order to live life to its fullest. Experience is the best teacher. Edward was born with cerebral palsy and as a child had to deal with the misconceptions of ability and disability. At every turn he always strove to be independent and to live his life based on his abilities, not his disabilities.

When he was mid-thirty he discovered he had inherited the Huntington’s gene for which there is no current cure and only minor treatment to slow down the disease. He has faced this like he has faced everything else – with determination to live life to the fullest, fight off discouragement and depression, and take each day one at a time.

He was mainstreamed in his education and awarded a BS in Education from the University of New Orleans despite all the odds. Fiercely independent, he worked from his early teens onward and refused to apply for any form of government assistance. He learned how to drive and lived on his own while working and attending college. He has capitalized on his abilities.

Traveling has been a big part of his life. He feels it has greatly widened his view on life. He has traveled to all fifty states, as well as across Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and Egypt.
