Michael Mocatta studied Hebrew language and literature at the University of Cambridge. After a career in various business roles, he returned to Kings College, London to take an MA in Jewish Studies. Michael has taught adults at Limmud, UK and at synagogues for pre-Bar Mitzvah age groups. Michael is researching Jewish attitudes to trauma, breakdown and mental illness, and is particularly interested in the cross-over between psychology, philosophy and (Jewish) theology. His essay on the French philosopher, George Bataille, and his relevance for people suffering from addiction or breakdown has been published by Philosophy Now and (in an adult-only version) by iCAAD, the international addiction/mental health platform. A study-junky, Michael also holds an MBA from London Business School and is reading for an MSc in Psychology from Birkbeck College, London. He lives in London with his lovely wife and three children.
