Jeff Lyon grew up in north Texas as the son of a long-haul semi driver father and preacher's daughter mother. With a new B.A. in communications from UNT Jeff went ski bumming in Colorado for four years. Returning to Texas, Jeff worked ten years as a health inspector and fire marshal for Lewisville, where he met his soon-to-be bride Karen Lyon. Together they moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Jeff became a licensed yacht captain. Karen's job took the couple to Chicago for ten years where Jeff drove other peoples' boats, taught sailing lessons on Lake Michigan, and worked as harbor master for DuSable Harbor. During the long winter months, Jeff wrote travelogues for newspapers and magazines, a few screenplays, and novels about his adventures. Karen's job dictated a return to Ft. Lauderdale, move to Charlotte, NC, and upon her retirement the happy couple landed in Chattanooga, TN, where the locals call them "Halfbacks" because they moved half-way back to the frozen north from sunny Florida. Jeff's still writing and the first book in his new trilogy Digital Divining will appear on Amazon in July of 2023.
