Cathy Acampora

Cathy Acampora works for the Plymouth County 4-H program educating about dog training, safety and knowledge. She has a degree in Animal Science and Behavior from the University of Vermont and has been teaching kids to train dogs since 2006 with the 4-H program. She has trained several dogs in obedience, agility, tricks, therapy dog training and other dog sports and competes with her own dogs. She worked as the head zookeeper at the Franklin Park Zoo for 10 years with a wide variety of animals. She has written 2 books on dogs and is working on a third. They are intended to provide a simple platform for teaching children how to safely interact with dogs and the responsibilities of caring for them

Cathy utilizes positive training methods with her own dogs and teaches that to children of all ages.
