Shannon A. Bowen

Dr. Shannon A. Bowen, Professor, University of South Carolina, focuses on ethical decision

making within the highest levels of organizations. Her research includes ethics, issues management and public policy, public relations theory, leadership, internal/employee communications, mission & vision, organizational culture, values, decision making, artificial intelligence, EQ, and the influence of change on organizational ethics. Bowen is a regular op-ed columnist for PRWeek, joint editor of Ethical Space: The International Journal of Communication Ethics, sits on the Board of Trustees of the Arthur W. Page Society and the non-profit International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC). She has earned many awards for her body of 100+ publications, including the Jackson Jackson and Wagner Behavioral Science Research Prize presented by the PRSA Foundation and the Robert Heath Award. Her professional experience is on Capitol Hill and in political research analysis as strategist. She is the author of several books and regular contributor to reference works, such as encyclopedias, in the area of ethics, mission, vision, leadership, and strategy.

Dr. Bowen offers lectures and consulting, conducting research, strategic analysis, and ethics training in organizations. Her ethical decision-making frameworks guide management at numerous organizations, such as top pharmaceutical firms and numerous governmental-public sector entities, such as townships, principalities, and other groups.
