Stacey Steinberg

Stacey Steinberg is a legal skills professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law where she supervises the Gator TeamChild Juvenile Law Clinic. She is an internationally sought-after expert on children's privacy. Her first book, Growing Up Shared: How Parents Can Share Smarter on Social Media and How You Can Keep Your Family Safe in a No-Privacy World, was released in August, 2020 and was featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and on WGN News and The Doctors television show.

Steinberg's article, Sharenting: Children's Privacy in the Age of Social Media, was the first scholarly legal paper focused at the intersection of a parent's right to share and a child's interest in privacy. Stacey's work has been cited by countless news and research organizations including NPR, the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, and the children's rights arm of the United Nations, UNICEF. She contributes to On Parenting from the Washington Post and is a self-taught photographer. Stacey previously worked as a special victim's unit prosecutor and as a children's legal services attorney. She lives in Florida with her husband and three kids, where she continues to share (with her children's permission) on social media.
