The Immoralist is his first book featuring Gabriel Chase, an eccentric NYPD detective with the strongest sense of Justice. Chase is extremely smart which is evident in the way he conducts investigations and catches elusive serial killers. The FBI will eventually hire him as the first agent in a fictional department newly created under the NCAVC.
