Herbert Mays

Herbert Mays served in combat during the Vietnam War for the US Army as a twenty-year-old sergeant. Mortally wounded and left for dead in an army morgue, he miraculously woke up in an army hospital. Following his honorable discharge from the military, he worked for the US Postal Service until retirement. He then started two successful businesses in the construction industry.

In 1993, at the age of forty-seven, Herbert answered the call to full-time ministry. He sold his business, trusted his livelihood to God, and attended Rhema Bible Training College, located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He graduated in 1995 with a ministerial degree in missions. Before years end, he was in the mountains of Panama, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the Guaymi Indians, where he saw many miracles occur.

God then called Herbert to start a church in the rural community of Portland, Tennessee. Faithful and submissive to the Holy Spirit, he has pastored there for over twenty years, continuing to see the saving grace and miraculous power of God.
