Daniel Mantilla Barreto, nacido en 1995, es un joven escritor y artista de Bogotá, Colombia, donde ha vivido casi toda su vida. Hijo de una prolífica escritora de series televisivas, siempre se ha visto atraído por las historias, ya sea contándolas o experimentándolas.
Aparte de su primer libro, "Qué Somos, sino Memoria" (publicado en Amazon en español en marzo de 2020 y de próxima aparición en inglés también en Amazon, traducido por el mismo autor), ha sido el ganador del primer premio de la IIIera edición del Concurso Nacional de Cuento Caro y Cuervo (2017).
La portada de libro "Qué Somos, sino Memoria" pertenece a la colección "La Ciudad de los Arcos", tesis meritoria de la carrera de Arte de la Universidad de los Andes en 2018, de donde también proviene uno de los cuentos de su primer libro.

Daniel Mantilla Barreto, born 1995, is a young writer and artist from Bogotá, Colombia, where he has lived almost all his life. Son of a hard-working screenwriter, he has always felt drawn towards stories, either the ones he tells or the ones he experiences.
Apart from his first book, "What are we but memories" (published in spanish in march 2020 and soon to be released in english also in Amazon translated by the same author), he´s been the winner of the first prize of the IIIrd Caro y Cuervo National Short-Story Contest (2017).
The cover image of "What are we but memories" belongs to the collection "The City of Arches", final and lauded project for the author´s Art degree at the Universidad de los Andes on 2018, from whence one of the stories of his first book also comes.
