Zsofi Teleki

Zsófi Teleki born July 26, 1946 Budapest Hungary. Emigrated to the U.S. after the 1956 uprising against soviet rule in Hungary. The family left in December of 1956 after the Soviets destroyed Hungary for the second time. Zsófi attended Immaculata College in Pennsylvania, and New York University in the Bronx where she obtained a BA.

A lifelong love of books and stories is part of the family tradition, but Zsófi came late to writing. Sunlight on Shadow started out to be a family story for descendents, but evolved during the process into a story of Hungary as much as family, and for an English speaking audience.

Writing became a joy and an outlet for long unexpressed feelings and emotions. A novel, is in the works. It is a story based in Hungary and history but is a work of fiction.

Zsófi has been married to a fellow Hungarian emigree for over fifty years. They have three grown children and four grandchildren, the fifth on the way. After a life of moving, not just from town to town, but to country and continent, they are settled in western North Carolina.
