Catherine Rix

Catherine Rix was born in South Shields, a town on the North East coast of England, where she lived with her husband, until moving to the neighbouring county of Northumberland. Every spare minute of her childhood and formative years was spent riding or simply 'messing about with ponies'; nothing much has changed! She still lives in Northumberland with her husband and daughter and their collection of horses and dogs.

After working for almost 30 years as a teacher of English & Drama in schools across the North East of England Catherine had a mid-life epiphany, and encouraged by her husband, she turned her back on the chalk face and walked out of the profession. She wrote her first book: 'Miss, Me Daddy Has Ya Knickers In His Pocket," as an act of catharsis and Catherine describes the collection of stories as an integral part of her personal healing.

Catherine is now developing The Grassroots series of books which blend horses, humour, mystery and sex.
