Throughout her three decades in the world of finance, Amy O’Brien has worked with countless individuals to create and coordinate personalized mortgage solutions. These interactions allowed her to see, firsthand, how the average consumer views and manages their money. As Amy worked to help clients make sound decisions for their financial well-being, she began to realize the connection between how money is spent in our society and the impact that it has on our health and the environment. This began her journey.
As a concerned mother doing her best to raise healthy children while assisting her parents in a health-challenged world, she yearned to get to the truth—especially since the truth, as she knew it, wasn’t making sense. Through many years of questioning and research, the information she uncovered was alarming. Her findings prompted her to write The Power of Green, a book which highlights a variety of her discoveries in hopes that consumer power can promote much-needed changes for the benefit of all.
Amy’s personal journey led her to discover a world-renowned healing center, Hippocrates Health Institute. Graduating from their signature three-week immersion program seven years ago was just the beginning. Since then, the countless hours of research, study, subsequent retreats, and classes (both attended and taught) have been Amy’s impassioned focus in her quest for true health—for herself and everyone around her.
Amy is on a mission to create awareness with consumers and to prompt progressive change in our health-challenged world. She considers herself to be a “Conscious Consumer in Training” as she continues educating herself and others.
Amy is a native of Seattle, Washington, where she appreciates the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. By creating a stronger awareness of how our everyday consumer practices impact the world around us, she hopes future generations will be able to enjoy it as well.
